Software automation continues to remain a challenge as business needs are constantly morphing. Applying software automation with parametric modeling can enable us to rapidly build solutions that can respond to change. This talk addresses current J2EE development challenges and how automation technology can alleviate the pain by providing an additional abstraction layer. We will do a deep dive on one such software automation tooling, WebSphere Factory, that IBM acquired to promote software automation using modeling techniques. Capturing both integration and user interface patterns in Lego blocks the Factory allows IT to "snap" solutions on-demand. Pros and Cons of each approach will be discussed in what is expected to be an animated discussion.
